3 months!!

Here is the Elly bug at 3 months...we haven't weighed her yet, but I'm sure it's bigger than last month considering the chub she's developed on her cheeks this month. She is a very happy baby!! She is always smiling and giggling and playing with the kids.  She likes her face covered in her blanket when she goes to sleep. She loves to snuggle...and this little girl knows how to burp! I am impressed with her abilities. She has discovered her hands and feet and love to play with them. She loves when I play with her feet and touch her toes to her face...it makes her giggle :-) She has got all of us wrapped around her little finger. She loves her mom time, dad time, and brother and sisters time. The kids love playing with her trying to get her to smile! She has lots of facial expressions...the newest one being sticking out her tongue as she chews on it...it's pretty funny. I love this little girl...she is growing way too fast for me!
Tummy time!
Her scared face right before she cries.
 The tongue...excuse the middle finger.
 About to giggle!
 Smiley
One of my favorite smiles that she does
 So cute!
 This one makes me laugh
This is when she is babbling...she loves to talk!
Playing with her sisters...yelling at them.
Loving dad time! I love this picture :-)

Easter 2012

Easter was fun this year...we had all the kids all weekend. We colored eggs on Saturday morning and just had a good time hanging out. On Sunday they got their easter baskets, we went to church, and enjoyed creamed eggs for lunch. We then went to Grandma and Grandpa Flores' house for some yummy easter dinner and a way fun easter egg hunt. The kids ended up with 19 eggs for each of them. It was a good time. We also stopped by Grandma and Grandpa Olsen's to chat with them. Over all it was a great Easter. I don't look forward to the days after when "trading" begins and contention rules because some ate their candy faster than others and begging and trading for candy occurs. Teaching moments came this  year due to this...about just being grateful for what you have...and just giving without expecting anything in return. That's just being a nice person. So new rules around holidays will be implemented in this house. We will see if that goes better for us. At least for my blood pressure anyway.

Coloring eggs!! They each had 10 eggs to color...that's a lot of eggs to eat!

Easter baskets Sunday morning...I promise they enjoyed it...I hope. Can't tell with no smiles.
At least our Elly Bug is happy it's Easter!!
 She loved her basket :-)
Watching the kids find easter eggs and the Flores home!

Froggy decided to join the fun...Elena is holding him.

I love Easter...not because of the eggs, candy, and baskets...I am grateful for the Savior and for the His Atonement. I am grateful that He gave us the ability to overcome physical and spiritual death. I love that someday we will all be resurrected and be whole. I thought a lot about that this year. What it would be like for Jana to experience with a normal hip, for all the aches and pains to be gone from my parents, all the physical ailments that all my family experience to just be gone. It gives me joy knowing that it will happen someday.  That we will be with our loved ones again and we can repent and be able to be in the presence of our Father and the Savior brings me such peace. That to me is what Easter is about. If I haven't taught that to my children...then I have failed. I need to do better about teaching them to love these holidays because of what they really are about. That is my goal...

Update on March...

So I'd better fill you in on what has been happening this month before it turns into April...these months just fly by before I realize they are gone! The weekend of St. Patrick's Day, we took a little trip to Utah and stayed with Tony's sister Jeanna and her husband Stephen. It was a very relaxing trip that I really needed. We left Friday night and came home Sunday. Saturday morning we got up and went to the Mt. Timpanogos  temple for a session while Jeanna and Stephen watched Melissa and Elly. We ate at Chick Fil-A...holy YUM!!! I only mention it, because it is SO delicious. We then picked up the girls and went to IKEA. I love that store! So fun to look at all the stuff and get cheap plastic cups, plates, and bowls that we really love. Then we just hung out with Jeanna and Stephen for the rest of the evening. We didn't have to rush anywhere...it was just nice to have a little vacation! We headed home Sunday morning after we went to Sacrament meeting and went to In n Out before we left Utah. We stopped in Jerome and visited Grandma Gwen (Tony's Grandma) and she got to see Elly for the first time. Melissa played a game with her and they watched a movie. It was just a great weekend and I enjoyed every minute.

2 months!

I guess I'd better give the 2 month update before she turns 3 months!

Weight: 9lb. 12oz.
Height: 21 3/4 inches

She has found her toes...as you can see :-) She LOVES to be sung too. Her favorite being the Wilson Phillips station on Pandora. She is a smiley bug. Once she looks directly at you, she usually smiles really big. She likes to play with her own hair when she goes to sleep. She has been sleeping an average of 5 to 6 hours at night. She loves her sisters and brother. They all love to hold her and like to take turns...although she is a one person at a time kind of girl. She doesn't like the others hovering when one is holding her. It's too much for her and she will let them know...and after awhile she gets tired of being passed so it's mom or dad time. She loves her dad, but likes to look everywhere but at him while he is wanting her to. As soon as he stops trying to catch her eye, she looks directly at him and gives him her biggest smile :-) So funny to watch. She doesn't like to be ignored either. One morning I put her next to Tony on the bed while he was sleeping. She was fed, burped, and changed...so otherwise in a good mood. She was being all fussy...so he opened his eyes and looked at her, she smiled, and he closed his eyes again...back to being fussy. He opened his eyes and looked at her and she stopped. It went on for quite awhile. Pretty funny. I love this little girl. She always makes me smile and she is such a good, calm baby. I couldn't ask for a better little girl to come to this family. We need calm!!

Whirlwind Weekend

Busy weekend! The 3rd of March, Mom did an open house at her home for friends and family to come visit and meet Elizabeth. It was really fun and I really enjoyed seeing so many friends and family. After the open house was over Tony and I got to go on a date! By ourselves! Since the 4th was our anniversary we went out the night before while family got to watch the kids. Can't believe it's been a year already since we got married!

This is just a funny picture...couldn't do that twice. Spit up looking funny...I'll take it!
The next day on our 1st wedding anniversary we were able to bless Elly. It was a beautiful day filled with love, peace, and family. Couldn't have asked for a better anniversary gift. She looked beautiful. She wore a dress and headband that my mom made. The booties were made by Tony's great Aunt Irene, and the blanket was made by Tony's Grandma. They were all just beautiful!

The Flores group that was able to come and enjoy the day with us.
My side of the family that was able to come be with us. I am very thankful for all who were able to be there to support us.
Beautiful Elizabeth. She is a doll and I absolutely love her. She is such a sweet, calm baby...I am blessed and very lucky to be her mom.

 Daddy's girl...Tony sure loves his babies :-)
I am so grateful for the priesthood. Especially the men in our family that are able to use it to bless our family.

It was a whirlwind weekend and I loved every minute of it, even though it might take me a week to recover from all the preparations and getting through it all. We took the kids out to dinner for our anniversary also...since technically it's their anniversary too. What a great tradition we have just started. We had a great time!

1 month!

It's so hard to believe it's been a month since our beautiful Elizabeth was born! She is the sweetest baby with the cutest smile, when she lets us see it. She loves snuggling with me and her daddy...she is pretty patient when she needs something, but if you wait too long, she lets you know! She loves her sisters and brother when they hold her. She is a light sleeper (kind of hard when you try to nap right when the kids get home from school). She loves to be sung to and to be talked to. She loves to eat...a lot! She likes to make lots of laundry for me to do...blowouts are becoming a daily with her. She is almost 8lbs. and as of last week was 21 3/4 inches. She is pretty tall! She is a lightweight though. We sure do love her and I thank Heavenly Father every single day for letting me be her mom. I am very blessed!!

33...a doubler year!

I couldn't have asked for a better birthday! I spent the day eating chocolate and drinking diet pepsi, cuddling with a very cute Elly Belly while the kids were in school. I ended the day surrounded by family...Tony's and mine...having a great party, with a great dinner made by my great husband. The kids made things for me out of cardboard boxes with love and I love the homemade cards! Tony did a perfect job picking presents for me from all the kids. It was a great day!! It made me very happy!!
